Dolphins claim historical upset win over the Roosters

During their inaugural NRL match, the Dolphins managed to secure an unexpected victory by overcoming the Sydney Roosters with a score of 28-18 at Brisbane’s Lang Park, delighting a local audience of more than 32,000 fans.

The team, led by coach Wayne Bennett, celebrated their momentous victory with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow making history as the Dolphins’ first try scorer, while teammate Jamayne Isaako crossed for a double.

Bennett, known for his reserved demeanor, expressed the significance of the win and how it relieved pressure off the team.

He also drew comparisons to his previous experience as the Brisbane Broncos‘ inaugural coach in 1988, where they also won their first match.

The Dolphins will face Canberra in Redcliffe for their second match.
