Dolphins claim historical upset win over the Roosters

In their NRL debut, the Dolphins pulled off a surprising upset by defeating the Sydney Roosters 28-18 at Lang Park in Brisbane, thrilling their home crowd of over 32,000.
The team, led by coach Wayne Bennett, celebrated their momentous victory with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow making history as the Dolphins’ first try scorer, while teammate Jamayne Isaako crossed for a double.
Bennett, known for his reserved demeanor, expressed the significance of the win and how it relieved pressure off the team.
He also drew comparisons to his previous experience as the Brisbane Broncos‘ inaugural coach in 1988, where they also won their first match.
The Dolphins will face Canberra in Redcliffe for their second match.
